Events (2022)

·                Jan-Feb:  Detailed project planning for 2022. Preparation of project report for 2021 to the Delegation of the European Union in Kazakhstan. Writing and publishing articles “How much does energy efficiency cost in Kazakhstan?”, “Development of energy-efficient modernisation of the housing stock”.  (PROMHOUSE)
·                4 Feb: First working group meeting to prepare the peer review with the Kazakh government: Improving Framework Conditions for the Digital Transformation of Businesses (OECD CAI Component)
·                10 Feb: Fact-finding mission and first working group meeting to prepare the peer review with the Uzbek government: Promoting Digital Skills for Businesses to Enhance Competitiveness (OECD CAI Component)
·                Jan-April: Conducting Freshmuun Entrepreneurship training program for job seekers in Uzbekistan (BOOST)
·                Jan-May 2022:  Geographical Indication (GI) (OP3): Following the outcomes of 5 expert missions (two in Kyrgyzstan, two in Uzbekistan, one in Tajikistan and one in Kazakhstan) in 2021 for piloting the four selected products with a GI potential, CANDY V will proceed with the key activities – establishing GI associations and elaborating the GI specifications by intensive cooperation with producers and other actors of the four value chains (CANDY V)
·                Feb:  Planning the III. phase of the TOT Trainer-to-Trainer programme (PROMHOUSE)
·                Feb: Business trip of entrepreneurs from Batken region (Kyrgyzstan) to Fergana region (Uzbekistan). More than 20 entrepreneurs in the field of textiles, agro, IT and crafts, and representatives of business associations, government agencies will visit Uzbek enterprises in the Fergana region and B2B meetings and discussions of cooperation issues will be organized (BOOST)
·                End of February: Organization of B2B meetings between potential exporters of the Fergana Valley (Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan) and potential importers of the UAE (BOOST)
·                Mid Feb-Mid March: Training & coaching of BIOs on energy efficiency (BOOST)
·                Feb-April:  Work on the extension of the strategies for the development of associations in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan – further elaboration of the concept of the service provided by the associations “Qualification of specialists from the housing sector” (PROMHOUSE)
·                March: Awareness raising on the benefits of resource efficiency in Uzbekistan (BOOST)
·                9 March: Capacity-building with the Tajik government: Enhancing Investment Promotion  (OECD CAI Component)
·                March-May: Training of Energy Auditors for textile sector and agri-business & food processing sector & Pilot energy auditing (BOOST)
·                Feb-May: Advocacy to solve the problems of the business community in front of government agencies and other stakeholders. Project team together with project beneficiaries from BIOs in Batken, Osh, Jalal-Abad, Namangan, Andijan, Fergana on public-private dialogue to advocate the developed position papers and support solutions to the problems faced by business (BOOST)
·                Feb-May: Digitalization of Entrepreneurship training program. For wider access of applicants to our courses on entrepreneurship, we plan to record our lessons on video and distribute them to more interested people (BOOST)
·                March:  Conducting a round table with stakeholders of the housing sector on the topic of creating conditions for large-scale modernisation of the housing stock in Kazakhstan (PROMHOUSE)
·                March 22-24: PPD Conference in Andijan. 120 participants (Representatives of business associations, SMEs, state and local authorities, youth organizations and committees, media) from 7 regions of Fergana Valley will join the conference in Andijan on topics of energy efficiency, green economy, creative economy, innovation, and food safety (BOOST)
