D-TEX – Digitalization of supply chains in the textile industry in Central Asia

The project is implemented by the E-commerce Association of Uzbekistan and works with BIOs in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

Project overview

Launched in 2020 and continuing through December 2023, the D-TEX project, supported by CAI IV, aims to create a digital platform and digitalize textile supply chains in Central Asia. In particular, the project aims at strengthening and enhancing the potential of BIOs, strengthening and expanding the capacities of MSMEs, members of BIOs, as well as job seekers.

Planned actions are the creation of a trading ecosystem and an effective smart infrastructure for the export of goods and services, including optimized supply chains by providing all participants in international trade with a new system in the form of a constantly updated digital platform called “Digital Textile” in real time. The development of D-TEX digital platform will provide an opportunity for textile producers to expand their sale markets by digitally presenting their textile products and their subsequent sale. Improving the processes of the textile industry through the introduction of digitalization will lead to a reduction in production costs and an increase in turnover, which will lead to an increase in profits.

Implementers

The D-TEX project unites a consortium of partners from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Latvia: the Association of Electronic Commerce of Uzbekistan, the Association for the Development of Business Logistics (Uzbekistan), the Academy of Export and Logistics (Uzbekistan), the Association of Electronic Commerce of Kyrgyzstan, the National Association of Small and Medium Enterprises Tajikistan and the Latvian Stevedoring Association.
