CAI Grantees

At the meso level, the CAI works with Central Asia Business Intermediary Organisations (BIOs) to improve their services to MSMEs. Therefore, the projects covered by the CAI aim to reinforce the role and the competences of Central Asian Business Intermediary Organisations, specifically with regard to their capacity to support and offer services to MSMEs and to influence policies in their favour, in order to increase MSMEs competitiveness on domestic and international markets.

Under its current scope, the CAI covers the following projects:

  • D-TEX – Digitalization of supply chains in the textile industry in Central Asia
    The project works with BIOs in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan
  • ENGINE – Capacity building of industry associations serving engineering companies in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan
    The project works with BIOs in Kazakhstan, Latvia and Uzbekistan.
  • ELSOFP – Expansion of Local Smallholder Organic Farming and Forest Products from Central Asia
    The project works with BIOs in Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
  • BOOST – Businesses and Organizations in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan operate sustainably
    This project works with BIOs in Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
  • Silk-Road CBT initiative: Connecting Central Asian Community-Based Tourism and European Markets
    The project works with BIOs in Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
  • CANDY V – Regional Integration and Capacity Building to Boost Agribusiness MSMEs Competitiveness and Trade Promotion in Central Asia
    The project works with BIOs in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
  • PROMHOUSE – Promoting professional housing management in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan
    The project works with BIOs in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
